I made a big mistake just recently.
I told my mom that I wanna be a makeup effects artist.
But that wasn’t the mistake.
When she politely confessed it wasn’t exactly what she had in mind for me, I didn’t have a come back. I couldn’t give her anything else that would ease her mind.
THAT was my mistake.
As supportive as she wants to be, she doesn’t want to see me struggling.
That’s when it hit me. A MFX artist has so many, widespread skills. Specialized skills that could take me to many different career paths.
I dug deep to find every job I could that uses some of the specialized skills of a special effects makeup artist. I wanted to prove to my mom that I could go places she (and I) never dreamed of.
This is the list of job ideas I dug up. And let me tell you, there are some really great careers out there.
